So it\u2019s so important to keep all links valid instead of having nonexistent links that will put down our page in user searches.\n<\/p>\n<h2>\n  Link target<br \/>\n<\/h2>\n<p>\n  Link\u2019s target is also supported. E.g. in MS Word in \u2018HyperLink Editor\u2019 set \u2018Target Frame\u2019 to:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>New window<\/strong>\n<p style=\"text-align:left\">\n      To set the hyperlink to be opened in a new browser tab (target=\u201d_blank\u201d).\n    <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Whole Page<\/strong>\n<p style=\"text-align:left\">\n      To set hyperlink to be opened in a top frame (target=\u201d _top\u201d).\n    <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Same frame<\/strong>\n<p style=\"text-align:left\">\n      To set the hyperlink to be opened in a current browser tab (target=\u201d_self\u201d).\n    <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Parent frame<\/strong>\n<p style=\"text-align:left\">\n      To set the hyperlink to be opened in a parent frame (target=\u201d_parent\u201d).\n    <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>none<\/strong>\n<p style=\"text-align:left\">\n      To set the hyperlink to be opened by default behavior (no target).\n    <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><a id=\"link_correction\"><\/a>Link correction<br \/>\n<\/h2>\n<p>\n  While conversion there are four help modes to process nonexistent links:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Underline<\/strong>\n<p style=\"text-align:left\">\n      It is used to keep visible in the final document that this is a link but the page doesn\u2019t exist. The text will be underlined but not acts as a link to prevent SEO errors. Additionally, the warning message will appear in the log.\n    <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Remove<\/strong>\n<p style=\"text-align:left\">\n      It just removes the nonexistent link and leaves only the link\u2019s text to prevent SEO errors. The warning message will appear in the log.\n    <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Check only<\/strong>\n<p style=\"text-align:left\">\n      It\u2019s used in cases when there is a need to only check nonexistent links. So, relates warning messages can be viewed in the log.\n    <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Don&#8217;t check<\/strong>\n<p style=\"text-align:left\">\n      Just skip nonexistent links checking in for some reasons. There will be no warning messages in this case.\n    <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align:center\">\n  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/data\/content\/doc\/wordpress\/post-docx-source\/links\/links-conversion-modes-en.png\" alt=\"links-conversion-modes\" title=\"links-conversion-modes - Links\" \/>\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> If there is a link to another post and the last one is not published the link will be interpreted as nonexistent.\n<\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"name_path_conversion\"><\/a>Name and path conversion<br \/>\n<\/h2>\n<p>\n  To increase the value of sourcing web pages from .DOCX files all links to other documents will be converted automatically to web links.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The .DOCX extension will be cut and the name will be adapted by replacing inappropriate symbols (spaces, commas, etc.) with a hyphen (dash). For instance, the link \u201cMy Sample Document 1.docx\u201d will be transformed into \u201cmy-sample-document-1\u201d.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Also, all file paths will be converted only to names that will be supposed to be located directly under the web page path. E.g. the link \u201cC:\\My Documents\\My Sample Document 1.docx\u201d will be converted to \u201c..\/my-sample-document-1\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Links are converted with text and reference.
