Sometimes the system does not allow to apply the settings to the adapters, giving various errors. Or devices cannot connect to Wi-Fi hotspot or don’t see it (we encountered this on Windows Vista in our laboratory).
In this case, you need to reboot the system – this usually fixes the situation.
